Aaron Olshon leads After Day 1C of the MSPT Seneca Niagara Main Event
Created (9/22/2018 9:26:13 PM by Admin System)

The third and final starting flight in the $1,100 MSPT Seneca Niagara – the tour’s first visit to Western New York – attracted 145 runners, which along with 1A’s 42 and 1B’s 77 brought the total field up to 264 entries.

That means the top 27 players will get paid a minimum of $2,172 with the ultimate winner walking away with a top prize of $63,340.

The player from 1C best positioned to make a run at it is Aaron Olshan, who bagged up the chip lead among the 32 survivors with 222,100. That is in between Day 1B chip leader Maria Parlatore (247,100) and 1A chip leader Illan Kandiah (207,000).

Others to advance from the 1C flight were Budwey Salhab (207,900), Joe Elhage (194,300), Frank Lagodich (78,800), and reigning MSPT Season 8 Player of the Year Chris Meyers (84,300),

Among those to fall on Day 1C were poker pro Mike Leah, MSPT Season 9 POY contender Alex Winter, Karla Bow, Scott Hosbach, George Crozier, Jake Hornbacher, Carol Leonardi, and Zach Andrews.

Day 2 will begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday with 51 returning players and play down to a winner. Of course, we’ll be there every step of the way to capture the action here in the live blog, so be sure to join us then.

Matt Shanahan

We missed the preflop action but we do know that Matt Shanahan got his stack all in preflop and was flipping for a 120K pot against Joshua Frazier-James.

Frazier-James:
Shanahan:

Shanahan needed to improve to stay alive, which he did in a big way on the flop. Neither the turn nor river helped Frazier-James and he sent the chips over to his opponent.

Joshua Frazier-James - 80,000 (40 bb)

Frank Lagodich Avoids The River Jam
Created (9/22/2018 8:50:02 PM by Admin System)

Frank Lagodich

Frank Lagodich raised to 4,100 from UTG+1, and Patrick Lacy called from the button.

Lagodich bet 2,700 on a flop, and Lacy raised to 8,700. Lagodich called.

The hit the turn, and and Lagodich checked. Lacy bet 14,200, and Lagodich counted out his remaining 41,000 in chips, then called the bet.

Lagodich checked the river, and Lacy now counted down his own 30,000 stack, thinking for about a minute before electing to check back.

Lagodich turned over for jacks and tens, and Lacy mucked.

“Glad you didn’t shove on me!” Lagodich said while stacking up the pot.

Frank Lagodich - 85,000 (43 bb)
Patrick Lacy - 30,000 (15 bb)

Created (9/22/2018 8:34:21 PM by Admin System)

Budwey Salhab raised to 4,500 from the lojack, and Michael Crystal three-bet shoved for 26,700. Salhab thought about it for a bit, then called.

Salhab:
Crystal:

Crystal’s kings were devastated after the flop gave Salhab top two and the lead. The turn left Crystal looking for a king, eight or three, but the river meant the end of Crystal’s run.

Budwey Salhab - 150,000 (75 bb)
Michael Crystal - Busted
