Day 1B of the MSPT Season 9 finale at Canterbury Park drew 355 runners, which along with 1A’s 199 brought the total field up to 554 entries with Saturday’s Day 1C still to go.

After 15 levels of play, just 56 remained with Thiensville, Wisconsin’s Rocco Crivello and his stack of 331,000 leading the pack. That is ahead of Day 1A chip leader Brad Berman, who made it through with 294,000.

Others to bag big stacks were MSPT Season 8 POY Chris Meyers (268,000), Sudar Jovan (253,500), Kevin Berthelsen (234,000), and Stephen Webb (232,000), who round out the top five.

They were joined by Minnesota Poker Hall of Famer Mike Schneider (220,500), Dan “DQ” Hendrickson (202,500), Larry Ormson (185,000), 2016 MSPT Wisconsin State Poker Champ Andy Rubinberg (163,500), Craig Trost (156,000), WSOP bracelet winner Ben Keeline (129,000), Jeff Fielder (103,000), and MSPT champ Jeff Birt (58,000).

One of the big stories on Day 1B was three more names being selected in the $30,000 Platinum Pass Giveaway, which will see one lucky winner win their way to next month’s PokerStars Players NL Hold’Em Championship (PSPC) in the Bahamas!

Three names were drawn at random to determine who will return for Sunday’s eight-player heads-up Flipout Tournament and they were Kevin "1sickdisease" Eyster (pictured), Eric Wasylenko and Brandon Welter. They join the three runners from 1A – Jolene Jensen, MSPT Season 6 Canterbury Park champ Dan “DQ” Hendrickson, and MSPT champ Mark Sandness – while the final two names will be selected on Day 1C.

Among those to try and fall on 1B were three-time MSPT champ Blake Bohn, former MSPT Canterbury Park winners Jon Kim and Rob Wazwaz, and two-time Matt Kirby, who needs a cash to continue is streak as of one of four players to cash every season of the MSPT alive.

Days 1C will get underway at 3 p.m. local time on Saturday. Be sure to check back then as we bring you all the action straight from the tournament floor of Canterbury Park!
