Last year, Mark Hodge won the Mid-States Poker Tour Player of the Year race, though he never won an event. He had his heart set on winning here today, but his hope just died at the hands of Joe Barnard.

It happened when Barnard raised to 80,000 from the button and then called when Hodge moved all in for just over 200,000.

Hodge was excited to see he held two overs, and he called for paint. The flop meant a jack would do it for Hodge, but he was left wanting as the blanked on the turn followed by the on the river.
