Battiato Leads 29 Survivors To Day 2 Of The MSPT $1,100 at Venetian
Created (2/8/2023 12:52:09 AM by Liam Gannon)

A huge turnout of 262 entrants occupied Day 1A of The MSPT $1,100 at Venetian in Las Vegas, Nevada. This turnout all but ensures that the $250,000 guarantee will be passed, and a hefty prize will be awarded to first place.

Leading the way is Vincent Battiato with 599,000. The New York native found himself riding a wave of momentum that started close to the end of the day when he cracked the kings of Francis Anderson. It continued later into the night as he knocked out MSPT champion Andrew Rubinberg and Maria Konnikova in quick succession, bringing the field down to the bubble. His first MSPT cash looks to be a big one as Battiato sits with over half a million, only one of two players in this flight to do so.

Michael Dyer found himself in second place with 556,000. Dyer is most known for his third place finish at the 2018 WSOP Main Event which gave him a career best score of $3,750,000. Dyer has found success in MSPTs in the past, and looks to make this run his best yet. He bags the second biggest stack, and will look to at an MSPT title to his already illustrious resume.

Others who bagged included WSOP Main Event 2021 fourth place finisher Josh Remitio 472,000, cashing his first MSPT, and MSPT hall of famers Rob WazWaz (174,000) and Rich Alsup (124,000).

Not all were as fortunate, as many players were unable to find bags. Players like Jesse Lonis, Cole Ferraro, Ryan Leng, Ralph Massey and MSPT champions; Ken Baime, Daniel Sepiol, Gerald Cuniff, Aaron Massey and Jeff Platt. They will all have ample opportunity to play tomorrow in their quest to find a bag for Day 2 of the MSPT $1,100.

Play ended with 13:00 left on the clock in level 15 which means that player will return on Day 2 with blinds at 3,000/5,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante. After that the blinds will resume like normal and play will continue until a winner is crowned.

Stay tuned to MSPT.com for all updates on The Venetian $1,100 tournament and the following $1,600 tournament soon.
