Mike Wheeler Leads 18 Survivors After Day 1B
Created (7/15/2023 12:28:17 AM by Anthony Thompson)

A full day of action was played to its conclusion at the 2023 Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Bally's Black Hawk $1,110 Main Event.

The second of three flights drew 138 entries to bring the two-day total thus far to 232.

Of those 138 entries, only 18 players remained when chips went into bags with Terry “MikeWheeler (477,000) edging out Dwane Collard (437,000) for the top stack this flight, good enough for second overall thus far.

Rounding out the top five stacks of the day were James Coca (350,000), Maddie Robinson (344,000), and Justin Lynch (336,000).

Unlike Day 1a, the final levels of the night saw the 27-player field only dwindle down to 18 as players tightened their play before becoming official for the evening.

Several other familiar players will also be joining the aforementioned five. Dalton Porter (327,000), Helmut Roy (316,00), Josh Williamson (227,00), and MSPT Champ Steve Wilkie (143,000) are just a few more of the players to add their names to the Day 2 roster along with the 11 to have already advanced from Day 1a.

The final starting flight will get underway tomorrow at Noon local time, and it will be the last chance for players to punch their ticket into Sunday's Day 2.

Late registration and re-entries will remain open through Level 12 (approximately 9:10 p.m.) Make sure to tune in to see who makes it through to Day 2.
